Malaysia - Bungkus life

Malays absolutely love a Bungkus, translating in the Oxford dictionary as - to enfold, to wrap up, to put together in a package, to wrap as a parcel, to make into a bundle, to cover or protect with something pressed tightly. Basically it is their word for a takeaway and you see many people in the morning or at lunch time walking around with the different variations of Bungkus.

It comes in many forms, usually plastic containers, paper wrapping or banana leaf for food and small plastic bags, expertly tied with a straw for most drinks.

While I do enjoy the very occasional Bungkus, I can't help but think how much plastic is used to create these on a daily basis throughout all of Malaysia...
